We have recently been made aware of fraudulent text messages and phone calls targeting members by individuals impersonating our fraud department.
In one scam, members receive a text message asking whether a debit card transaction is valid. If the member replies “no,” they receive a phone call from the fraudster, who then sends a text containing a verification code. While our fraud department may contact you by text or phone to confirm suspicious activity, we will NEVER send you a code or ask you to provide one!
Another scam involves callers requesting your debit card number, expiration date, and security code. TFCU will NEVER ask for this information over the phone or by text message!
If you receive any suspicious calls or messages like these, do not respond. Instead, contact TFCU directly to speak with a Member Service Representative.
If the incident occurs after regular business hours, please call the phone number listed on the back of your debit card.
