💡 Bookkeeping Tip of the Day 💡
Stop mixing business and personal expenses. 🚫
Your bank account isn’t a smoothie—you don’t need to blend everything together. Keep it separate, and your books (and tax season) will thank you.

10 Bookkeeping Facts You’ll Actually Use 🧾✨

Separate accounts = fewer headaches.

Reconcile monthly to catch errors early.

Receipts can be digital—snap & attach. 📸

Grab W-9s before you pay contractors—your future 1099 self says thanks. ✍️

Undeposited Funds should live at $0—clear it as payouts land. ✅

Square/Shopify/Stripe? Use a clearing account so deposits, fees, and refunds tie out. 🔁

Payroll ≠ contractors. If you direct the “how/when,” it’s probably payroll. 🧑‍💼

Keep records 3–7 years (longer for some assets). 🗂️

Consistent method (cash or accrual) beats “vibes only.” 📊

15-minute Friday scan: P&L + Balance Sheet + open invoices. Fix the weird stuff before it grows legs. 🕵️

6 Tiny Bookkeeping Habits That Actually Stick 🧠🧾
Because “I’ll do it later” is not a system, it’s a trap.

Daily 2-minute receipt grab. Snap it and drop it in a “YYYY-MM Receipts” folder.

Friday 15 review. Open P&L + Balance Sheet + unpaid invoices. Fix the weird stuff before it grows legs.

Bank rules = less chaos. Set rules for your top 10 repeat vendors this month. Future-you will cry happy tears.

Memo the why. Add a 3-word memo (“what/why”). Mystery meat transactions begone.

Close Undeposited Funds weekly. It should live at $0—like a good houseplant.

Sanity-check payouts. After each Square/Shopify deposit, make sure the clearing account returns to $0

Bookkeeping Tips That Save Your Sanity🧾🤘
If your “system” is a shoebox and a prayer… this one’s for you.

1️⃣ Separate the money. Business checking + business credit card. No more “was that latte a write-off?” debates.
2️⃣ Reconcile monthly. Not “when I feel like it.” Bank & cards matched = fewer surprises.
3️⃣ Snap receipts as you go. 📸 Attach to the transaction. No April archaeology.
4️⃣ Split your income. Retail vs. services/design so your margins actually tell the truth.
5️⃣ Use a clearing account. Square/Shopify fees, tips & refunds belong there—not wrecking your P&L.
6️⃣ 15-minute Friday review. Open P&L + Balance Sheet, fix the weird, earn your weekend. 🍳

💥 BOOKKEEPING TRUTH BOMB:

“I’ll just do my books at the end of the month.”
– You, 5 months ago.
Now it’s July and your spreadsheet has more cobwebs than your attic.

Listen, your receipts aren’t aging like fine w**e. 🍷
They’re aging like milk. In the sun. On a dashboard.

If you’ve been avoiding your books like an ex at the grocery store, I get it.
But avoiding it doesn’t make the math go away—it just makes it messier.

📣 Hire me, and we’ll sort it out without judgment. I’ve seen it all:
✅ Duplicate transactions
✅ Mystery charges
✅ And yes… the ol’ “why is there a $300 charge at Home Depot under 'Marketing'?”
