Today is more than the start of summer.

It is the day we stop and remember the men and women who gave everything so that we could have the life we take for granted on ordinary Tuesdays.

The ones who left their families behind. The ones who never made it home. The ones whose names are on walls and headstones and in the memories of people who still feel the weight of that loss decades later.

Freedom is not abstract. It has faces. It has names. It has families who set a place at the table that never gets filled again.

If you have someone to remember today, take a moment to do that. Not just at the cookout or the parade but in a quiet moment where you can actually sit with what their sacrifice meant.

And if you come from a military family or you served yourself, thank you. Not just today but always.

From my family to yours, have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Most people sign up for health insurance and never look at it again until something happens.

And then something happens.

A trip to the ER.

A specialist visit that costs more than expected.

A prescription that suddenly isn't covered the way it was last year.

A bill that shows up weeks later for something you thought was taken care of.

That's when people start asking the questions they wish they had asked before.

What does my deductible actually apply to? What's the difference between in network and out of network and why does it matter so much? What happens if I need something that requires prior authorization and I don't know it?

These aren't complicated questions. They just never get answered until it's too late.

I put together a free guide that breaks down exactly what your coverage actually does when real life happens. The kind of thing I wish every client had before they ever needed to use their insurance.

Comment MOMENTS below and I'll send it your way.

I got into this because I genuinely like helping people figure things out.

Not because I love paperwork. Not because I dreamed of selling insurance. Because there is something really satisfying about sitting across from someone who came in overwhelmed and watching them leave with actual clarity.

That's what I'm here for.

When someone comes to me about health coverage, I'm not running through a pitch. I'm asking questions. What does your life actually look like right now? What are you worried about? What has confused you in the past? What do you actually need?

Because the right plan for you isn't the most expensive one. It's not the one with the best brochure. It's the one that makes sense for your situation, your budget, and the real life you're actually living.

I'm Lauren Phillips and I work with individuals, families, and seniors in Georgia who are tired of feeling like they don't fully understand their coverage. That ends with me.

If you have questions about your health insurance options, my inbox is always open.

She came in with a legal pad full of numbers she had run herself.

Different scenarios. Different ages. Different market assumptions. She had done everything right on paper and still couldn't find a version where she felt certain the money would last.

She wasn't careless with her finances. She wasn't unprepared. She was just terrified of the one thing that's genuinely hard to plan for on your own. Living longer than your money.

We spent time looking at her full picture. What she had. What she needed. What she couldn't afford to leave to chance. And we built her a guaranteed income stream she will never outlive. No matter what the market does. No matter how long she lives.

When we finished walking through the plan she cried.

Not because it was complicated. Because for the first time in years she could actually see it. A retirement that didn't depend on perfect timing or perfect market conditions or hoping the math worked out.

Just certainty. Finally.

That's the work. That's why I do this.

If you've been running your own numbers and still can't find the version that feels solid, you don't have to figure it out alone. DM me the word CERTAIN and let's build something that actually holds.

If your only experience with health insurance is whatever your employer puts in front of you during open enrollment, this is for you.

Most people treat the plan their job offers as the only option. They pick between the two or three choices on the table, try to figure out which one makes the most sense, and move on. It never occurs to them that there might be something better outside of what their employer is offering.

But here's what a lot of people don't know. ⤵

Depending on your situation, your income, your family size, and what you actually need from a health plan, the individual market might offer you more flexibility, better coverage, or a lower cost than what's sitting in your employee benefits packet.

People who are self employed. People whose employer coverage doesn't extend to their family affordably. People who are between jobs. People who are working part time or seasonally. People who just want to know if there's something better out there.

These are real conversations I have every single day with people in [CITY/REGION] who had no idea they had options.

You might be one of them.

If you've never had someone actually look at your full picture and tell you what's available to you, that's worth changing.

Most people assume dental insurance works like a safety net.

You pay every month, you go to the dentist, and it covers what needs to be covered. Simple.

And then you need a crown. Or a root canal. Or an implant. And the bill comes back and it's nothing like what you expected.

Here's what tends to catch people off guard. ⤵

Most dental plans have an annual maximum. Once you hit that number, typically somewhere between $1,000 and $2,000, you're paying out of pocket for the rest of the year. For anyone who needs significant work done, that ceiling gets hit fast.

Waiting periods are real. A lot of plans won't cover major procedures for the first six to twelve months after you enroll. If you signed up and assumed you were immediately covered for everything, you may want to double check that.

Cosmetic procedures are almost never covered. But the line between cosmetic and necessary isn't always as clear as people expect, and that gray area can be expensive.

Major restorative work like implants and dentures often falls into a category with much lower reimbursement rates than people expect.

Your dental plan is still worth having. It just works better when you understand what it actually does before you need it.

If you want to take a closer look at your current coverage, DM me DENTAL and let's make sure you're not sitting on any surprises.

Your vision plan is not just an annual permission slip for new glasses.

And yet that's exactly how most people treat it. They schedule their yearly exam, pick out frames, and call it done. Meanwhile there's a whole list of things their plan covers that they've never once used.

Let's fix that.

Here's what tends to sit untouched in most vision plans:

👉 Contact lens allowances that people forget to use before they expire at the end of the year.

👉 Medically necessary contact lenses for conditions like keratoconus that are covered at a completely different benefit level than standard contacts.

👉 Prescription sunglasses — yes, really. A lot of plans cover these and people have no idea.

👉 Retinal imaging and advanced diagnostics that can catch things like glaucoma, diabetes, and high blood pressure before you ever feel a symptom. Your eye exam is doing more than checking your prescription.

👉 Frames allowances that roll into accessories or upgrades people don't know they can apply them toward.

Here's the thing about vision benefits specifically. They expire. Whatever you don't use by the end of your plan year is just gone. You already paid for it.

If you've never actually looked at what your vision plan includes, now is the time.

DM me VISION and let's make sure you're actually using what you're paying for.

Most people can tell you what they pay for health insurance every month.

Very few people can tell you what actually happens when they need to use it.

🤨 What does your deductible apply to and what doesn't?

🤨 What happens if you need a specialist and your primary care doctor is backed up for three weeks?

🤨 What does prior authorization mean and what happens if you skip that step?

🤨 What is your out of pocket maximum and how close are you to hitting it right now?

These are not trick questions. They are the questions that come up every single time someone actually needs their insurance and finds out the hard way that understanding your plan and having your plan are two completely different things.

The people who don't panic when something happens medically aren't luckier than everyone else. They just knew what they were working with before they needed it.

I put together a free guide that breaks down exactly what your coverage does when real life happens. Not a summary of insurance terms. The actual situations people find themselves in and what their plan does in those moments.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and I want to use this space to say something I genuinely mean.

Mental health is health.

Not a weakness. Not something to push through alone. Not something to be embarrassed about or explain away or save for a breaking point before you ask for help.

One in five adults in this country experiences a mental health condition in any given year. That means someone in your family. Someone on your team. Someone you passed in the grocery store this week. Someone reading this right now.

And a lot of those people are carrying it quietly because somewhere along the way they got the message that they should be able to handle it on their own.

You don't have to.

If you have been struggling, please talk to someone. A friend. A family member. A professional. Anyone who can help you carry it for a little while so you don't have to carry it alone.

If you have health coverage, check what mental health benefits are included. Therapy, counseling, and mental health support are covered under most plans in ways a lot of people don't realize until they look. If you're not sure what you have, that's a conversation I'm always happy to help with.

And if someone in your life has been quieter than usual lately, check on them. Not with a text. Actually check on them.

We take care of each other here.
