December 13th is National Cocoa Day, and there's no better way to embrace the cozy vibes of the season than by sipping on a delicious cup of hot chocolate ☃️

That’s why today we are sharing our favorite hot chocolate recipe and step-by-step instructions. Trust us, you won’t be sorry!

Ingredients:
✨ 2 cups of milk (your choice: whole, skim, almond, etc.)
✨ 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
✨ 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
✨ 1/4 cup of water
✨ A pinch of salt
✨ 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
✨ Whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings for topping (optional)

Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, mix cocoa powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add 1/4 cup of water and bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly until it becomes a smooth, thick syrup.
2. Stir in the milk and heat over medium heat until hot but not boiling. Be sure to keep stirring so it doesn’t stick to the pan!
3. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Mix well.
4. Pour into your favorite mug, top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings, and enjoy the warm, chocolatey goodness!

This season is the perfect time to cozy up with a hot chocolate, whether you're by the fireplace, watching your favorite holiday movie, or just looking to enjoy a warm drink 👩‍🍳

If you have a health savings account (HSA), it’s good to know how much you can contribute and how much you may have to pay for health expenses each year 🏥

To help you out, we’ve placed below the numbers for individuals in 2023:

💰 Contribution Limit = $3,850

💰 Minimum Deductible = $1,500

💰 Annual Out-Of-Pocket Maximum = $7,500

If you think these numbers are noticeably higher than last year, you’d be correct – the IRS set them higher in response to inflation ⬆️

Curious about no-exam life insurance? We’ve had a number of clients ask about it, so we thought we’d share a few key things to know before making a decision:

2️⃣ There are two types: guaranteed issue, which requires no medical info, and simplified issue, which requires a brief questionnaire. We’ll focus on simplified issue today!

✔️ There are some clear benefits of simplified issue, no-exam policies, including the easy application process. It can also be helpful for those with health issues.

❌ There are some drawbacks to consider, including coverage limitations ($25,000-$300,000), higher premiums compared to traditional policies, and term length, which is usually 10 to 30 years
