Fest week is the one week a year you can’t walk down Main Street without stopping four or five times.

Somebody you haven’t seen since last August. Somebody’s kid who grew a foot. Somebody you were just about to call.

Four days, and I don’t think I made it from one end to the other without turning around at least a bunch of times.

Thank you to the volunteers who put months into this so the rest of us get a week like it. 💛

It was a pleasure celebrating Frederick Sheet Metal’s recognition as the 2026 Schweizer Fest Business of the Year.

The recognition is significant, but my favorite part of the evening was listening to my dear friend Sonia Ress, share the pride she has for her husband. She shared stories that made me laugh and she spoke words from her heart that brought tears to my eyes.

Awards may hang on a wall. The work behind them belongs to those who answer the phones, serve the customers, solve the problems and keep a 143-year local tradition moving forward!

Congratulations to the entire Frederick Sheet Metal team… and thank you for giving Tell City another reason to be proud.

"I received an email last week appointing me to the Association of Indiana Counties Legislative Committee, where I’ll represent Perry County and Southwest Indiana.

On paper, that may sound like one more committee. In practice, it means something much bigger: when proposed legislation could affect county finances, local services, or taxpayers, Perry County has someone in the conversation.

Over the past three and a half years, I’ve worked to build strong relationships with county and state officials across Indiana. I currently serve as Vice President of the Indiana Auditors’ Association, on its Executive Board and Legislative Committee, and as a member of the State Comptroller’s Roundtable.

Those roles have given me direct working relationships with the State Board of Accounts, the Department of Local Government Finance, the Comptroller’s Office, and fellow county officials who face many of the same challenges we do.

But the titles aren’t the important part.

The important part is bringing what I learn back home, staying ahead of changes coming from Indianapolis, and speaking up when those changes could affect Perry County.

My first responsibility will always be running the Auditor’s Office well and serving the people who elected me. This work strengthens my ability to do both.

Perry County deserves to be represented - not remembered after the decisions have already been made.

The Perry County 4H fair was such a great time with family and friends! I enjoyed meeting new people and catching up with a lot of familiar faces. I loved being able to watch Wylder James, who was so happy to see all the animals. Especially the mow-cows!!! 🐄

What a night we had last night at the Perry County Christmas Party. I am still smiling inside and out ❤️ It was a great evening filled with food, drinks, music, dancing, games, and laughter!!!
There are so many people to thank, who helped make this special night happen.
First and foremost the Auditors Office staff- Kelli Wilgus, Kimberly Lasher, Nichole Senn, and Leisa Meyer Ecker.
They always have my back and I appreciate SO MUCH!!!!
The planning for this party started back in March of this year, when I come to them with the idea to host the 2023 Christmas Party as the county has not had one since before Covid. Now mind you, we are all new to local government…3 months in on a new adventure. All of the office staff had been working in the Auditors Office for less than a year when I took office in January. So, on top of the challenges of learning so much in their daily duties, which take up all of our work day and some….they agreed to work on this with me after hours. This party wouldn’t have done it without them ❤️

Second, thank you to all our local businesses and vendors that donated monetarily to cover expenses and for all the AMAZING doorprizes!!!! We all are beyond thankful!!!

Lastly, to all my county co-workers who took time out of their busy life to come celebrate together on December 1st as we start the Holiday Season!!
We all needed this night of laughter and good camaraderie❤️

One last special thank you to Eric and Cassandra Dickenson for providing our music for the evening. You two are always there to help a friend, and I appreciate your friendship so much!
