We currently have a job opening for a 4-H Program Coordinator!

This position supports the promotion, expansion, and implementation of 4-H Youth Development Programs in schools and communities. Works closely with established 4-H clubs and special interest groups to fulfill the goals of the 4-H program and provide high-quality learning opportunities surrounding the key aspects of positive youth development, including coordinating and facilitating hands-on educational workshops, after-school learning sessions, exhibition opportunities, and community service events. This position will be based in Hillsboro and serve Christian and Montgomery counties.

Yesterday, 4-H members from Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, and Montgomery Counties came together at the Macoupin County Fairgrounds for our annual Officer Training!

Throughout the day, youth strengthened their leadership skills, practiced parliamentary procedure, and learned more about the roles and responsibilities of serving as a club officer. Through hands-on activities and teamwork, members gained valuable skills to help them lead their clubs with confidence, work together effectively, and make a positive difference in their communities.

In addition to their training, members participated in a community service project by assembling care kits for local food pantries. Together, they packed over 100 care kits to support individuals and families in our communities!

We’re proud of these young leaders for investing in their own growth while finding meaningful ways to give back. This is what 4-H is all about: developing leadership, building connections, and making a difference!

Bake, Learn, and Explore This Fall!

Our Pumpkin Bread Take-Home Kit is the perfect way for youth ages 5-18 to build kitchen skills while having fun. Each kit includes dry ingredients, a pumpkin bread recipe, and a discovery sheet designed to help youth explore the science and creativity of baking.

Youth do not need to be 4-H members to participate.

FALL FAMILY FUN DAY IS COMING!

Looking for a fun way to spend a fall morning with your family? Come join us for Fall Family Fun Day with 4-H!

Current 4-H members, bring your family and friends! If you are not part of 4-H yet, you are invited too. Everyone in the community is welcome to join us for a morning filled with hands-on activities, games, seasonal fun, and plenty of opportunities to make memories together.

This is a great chance to experience 4-H, meet other 4-H families, and discover all the ways you can get involved. You never know what new activity, interest, or adventure you might discover!

REGISTRATION CLOSES TODAY!

Unit-Wide Community Service

Local 4-H members are putting their hands to larger service by collecting travel-size care items for area schools and food pantries. These everyday essentials help students and families in our community feel confident, healthy, and cared for.

From September 1 through October 15, we invite 4-H members, families, businesses, and community members to donate travel-size personal care items that will be used to create care kits for individuals and families in need.

Please register and select the item(s) you plan to donate. This helps us balance donations, avoid shortages, and ensure each kit contains a variety of essential care products.

Whether you’re an experienced officer, newly elected or just curious about stepping into a leadership role, this hands-on training will help you:
-Explore officer responsibilities
-Build leadership & teamwork skills
-Learn how to run effective club meetings
-Have fun while growing your confidence

4-H Club Leader Training
At the same time, 4-H Club Leaders will gather for a dedicated training on:
-Making meetings fun
-Tips for engaging families and volunteers
-Review 4-H programming data from 2025-2026
