Every swing brings possibility. 💙⛳
One of our recipients… lost her father in middle school. Her family faced tremendous financial and emotional hardship. Without consistent parental guidance, school became a struggle. Her attendance was sporadic, her grades were failing, and her older brother eventually dropped out.
But the summer before her junior year, she made a decision:
She would become the first person in her family to graduate from high school.
And then she went to work.
She improved her attendance. She got a job. She used her own money to pay for summer school and credit recovery. She kept showing up - even when showing up was hard.
As a senior, “R” is passed every class, completed her recovery requirements, and graduated!!
That is resilience.
And THAT is why we golf. ⛳
The Mountain West Chamber Scholarship Golf Tournament isn’t simply a day on the course. It helps us invest in students who have faced significant challenges and chosen to keep moving forward.
This year, our goal is to fund eight $2,000 scholarships for resilient local seniors like “R”!
