Since 1973, the Home Builders Association of Lake-Sumter has worked to promote and protect the local building industry by providing membership-based programs, networking opportunities and government representation to builders, developers, trades contractors, suppliers and industry service providers in Florida. The Association works with government, the general public, and a variety of business and
community organizations. The HBALS represents approx 200 members, working in all facets of the building industry from general contractors, remodelers and developers, to sales and marketing experts, architects, excavators, plumbers, electricians and financial institutions. In short we bring together all the players in this dynamic and ever changing industry to meet the primary objective of our Association: to ensure that local citizens have access to the housing of their choice and the opportunity to realize the American dream of homeownership. Our members provide affordable housing by promoting healthy economic and building conditions while maintaining a high quality-of-life standard. As the HBALS and its members have a stake in that quality of life, we actively participate in economic development efforts and give back to our community through participation with local charities. We facilitate business-to-business networking and provide a wide variety of benefits, such as special members-only events and programs throughout the year, and opportunities for continuing education for our members and their employees. The Association also coordinates special community events, which you will most certainly want to be a part of. Additionally, the HBALS serves as a resource to the public, providing information and referrals to help citizens enjoy their construction experience. Our Association provides valuable tools and resources to anyone considering a construction project.
