Father’s Day Weekend Is Coming…

So, I keep getting asked the same question from my family:

“Dad, what do you want to do this weekend?”

And honestly?

My first answer is always: put the cell phone down, spend time together, laugh a little, eat something I probably shouldn’t, and make some memories.

Of course, my family immediately follows that up with:

“That’s nice, but where are we making reservations?” 😂

So now the negotiations begin…

Golf? Fishing? Beach day? Backyard BBQ? Brunch? A nap that lasts longer than 17 minutes? Maybe all of the above.

For those planning Father’s Day, here’s a little secret from most dads:

It’s usually not about the gift.
It’s not about the fancy dinner.
It’s not even about the perfectly planned day.

It’s about time together.

A few laughs.
A few stories.
A few moments where nobody is staring at a screen.
