Lily Rose Numbers was named after a special Cocker Spaniel who was an integral part of the Dieckhaus family. She was a bookkeeping companion and would sit on Cathy’s lap when she was working on accounts late into the night and loved to visit with an occasional client or two. Cathy Dieckhaus, founder of Lily Rose Numbers, is an advanced certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor who currently lives in Tampa, FL with her talented husband and two spoiled Cocker Spaniels, Champ and Susie (who you will hear snoring away in Cathy’s office. She has three amazing grown daughters, one beautiful granddaughter and one on the way.

Today, I honor and remember the incredible men and women who sacrificed so much in defending our freedom. I still remember going to my father’s VFW services on Memorial Day as a teenager. We were waving our flags and listening to the speeches honoring their comrades that did not make it back as well as watching the 21-gun salute. Those men including my father, John Dexter were so proud to have defended our country and lived to tell the story. There were many that did not make it back home.

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on love, sacrifice, strength, and the memories that continue to live in our hearts long after our loved ones are gone. Though they are deeply missed every day, their legacy lives on through the lives they touched, the lessons they taught, and the love they gave so freely.

Today we remember all those that sacrificed with gratitude, pride, and endless love. 🇺🇸

Hello May, and welcome to one of our favorite months of the year.

I want to tell you about a client I started working with years ago.

She handed me a shoebox. Literally. A shoebox full of receipts, bank statements, and crumpled sticky notes with dollar amounts written on them. She was embarrassed. I told her the same thing I tell every client who shows up like that: this is not a judgment zone. This is where we fix it.

We spent the first few weeks rebuilding an entire year of books from scratch. By the end, she had a profit and loss statement she actually understood, a clear picture of what her business was really making, and for the first time she could tell her accountant exactly what they needed without digging through a pile of paper.

Happy National Pet Day from the Lily Rose Numbers team. Although it was the 11th we were off for the weekend and figured the pets deserve special recognition this week.

Most of you know the name Lily Rose Numbers — but not everyone knows the story behind it.

Lily Rose was a very special Cocker Spaniel who held a permanent spot in our hearts and, honestly, in the heart of this business. She is the reason this company has her name. She was sweet, loyal, and the kind of companion that makes everything feel a little more manageable — which is exactly the spirit we try to bring to every client we serve.
