It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our longtime colleague and dear friend, George Romagnoli.
For more than 20 years, George was part of the Neighborhood Lending Partners, Inc. family. Throughout those years, we had the privilege of working alongside him, learning from him, and benefiting from the extraordinary depth of knowledge and experience he brought to affordable housing and community development. More importantly, we had the privilege of knowing George as a friend.
George dedicated more than three decades of his professional life to strengthening communities and expanding housing opportunities for others. His career included more than 25 years of service to Pasco County, where he helped lead community development efforts involving affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, homelessness programs, and public facilities. He later served in leadership positions in municipal planning and real estate development and continued to share his expertise with Neighborhood Lending Partners and communities throughout the region.
George's commitment to service extended far beyond his professional life. For approximately 30 years, he devoted his time to Scouting, mentoring and guiding generations of young people. It was another reflection of the qualities so many of us knew in George: his willingness to give his time, share what he knew, and invest in others.
Those of us who worked with George will remember his knowledge and dedication, but his legacy cannot be measured simply by the projects he worked on or the positions he held. It lives in the communities he helped strengthen, the people he mentored, the colleagues who sought his counsel, and the many friendships he formed along the way.
Twenty years is a long time to share meetings, projects, challenges, accomplishments, conversations, and laughter with someone. George became much more than a business colleague to many of us, and his absence will be deeply felt.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to George's family, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives he touched. We are grateful for the years we had with him and proud to have called him our colleague and friend.
