AEP is over but starting Jan 1st MA OEP will start.
During the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA OEP), typically Jan 1 - March 31, beneficiaries with Medicare Advantage can make one change: switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan or drop MA to return to Original Medicare (and join a Part D plan). Beneficiaries can review their plan's costs, drug coverage (formulary), and provider networks, and make changes to better fit their needs, especially if they selected the wrong plan during the main AEP.
What a Beneficiary Can Do:
âś…Switch MA Plans: Move from their current Medicare Advantage plan to a different MA plan.
âś…Return to Original Medicare: Drop their MA plan and join a stand-alone Medicare Part D (prescription drug) plan.
âś…Assess Current Plan: Review their Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) for changes in premiums, deductibles, copays, networks, and drug lists.
âś…Change Plans Due to Needs: Switch if their doctors aren't in-network, prescription needs changed, or they want a lower-cost option.
