Put away the white clothes for Labor Day!

In the late 19th century, wearing white clothes after Labor Day was seen as unfashionable with the end of summer. While we enjoy living in the state of endless summer, we hope you can celebrate with some rest and relaxation!

In honor of Labor Day, our offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th. We will resume normal operations on Tuesday, September 8th.

Polk County is known for its many organizations that empower the community.

We had the opportunity to visit the teams at Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, Alliance for Independence, and Volunteers in Service to the Elderly this week, and we are encouraged by how each organization supports underserved individuals. Their impact goes beyond what they provide: it helps support our community for the better.

We enjoyed being able to learn more about what these organizations do every day as part of the United Way agency tours, and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
