More than $1.77 billion was paid directly to college athletes in the first year of revenue sharing. That number is staggering, but the bigger story is what comes with it.

For today’s student-athletes, earning money is no longer just a possibility. For many, it’s becoming part of the college experience. And with that opportunity comes a need for financial education, planning and good decision-making much earlier in life.

How do you manage it? How much should you save? What about taxes? Investing? Protecting yourself financially? And how do you make sure money that may only last a few years creates opportunities that last much longer?

The landscape has changed. The financial education surrounding it needs to change with it.

The CSC said more than $1.975 billion in direct payments from schools to athletes were recorded by its College Athletes Payment System.

Felt some tightness in my knee after rep 8. Instead of forcing it, I stopped, stretched, worked on mobility, and came back to finish pain-free.
