As Memorial Day Weekend begins, I want to take a moment personally, as Ray Combs, and on behalf of Mach Mortgage, to honor every man and woman who gave their life serving this country.
This weekend is not just about time off, cookouts, beaches, boats, travel, or family gatherings.
It is about remembering the brave Americans who gave everything so the rest of us could live free.
For me, being American is deeply personal.
My family has been in America for over 400 years. My pride in this country runs through deep roots. We did not just migrate here. My family helped establish communities, build lives, and contribute to this nation from Virginia to Kentucky, Wyoming, Colorado, California, Idaho, Washington, and many other places across this country.
The Combs name is well established in American history, and with that comes gratitude, responsibility, and respect for those who sacrificed so future generations could continue building, living, worshiping, working, and raising families in freedom.
Memorial Day reminds me that America was not built by comfort.
It was built by sacrifice.
It was protected by courage.
It was carried forward by families who endured loss, hardship, war, grief, and uncertainty so others could have a better future.
Some heroes never made it home.
Some families never got the reunion they prayed for.
Some children grew up without a mother or father.
Some spouses lived with an empty chair at the table.
Some parents buried the child they once held in their arms.
That is the human side of Memorial Day.
So yes, I want everyone to enjoy Memorial Day Weekend.
Enjoy your family.
Enjoy your friends.
Enjoy the freedom we are blessed to have.
But while we enjoy it, let’s pause and be grateful together.
Let’s remember that behind every folded flag is a name, a family, a story, and a legacy.
To every fallen service member, may you rest in peace.
To every Gold Star family, may God comfort you and continue to honor your sacrifice.
To every family still carrying the pain of loss, please know your loved one is not forgotten.
Their name matters.
Their story matters.
Their sacrifice matters.
Their legacy matters.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers across the world.
To the moms still here with us and to the beautiful souls now watching over us from Heaven… thank you. Thank you for the sacrifices nobody saw, the prayers nobody heard, the tears nobody knew about, and the unconditional love that carried families through life’s hardest moments.
Mothers are the heartbeat of every home. They are the late nights, early mornings, warm hugs, hard lessons, strength during storms, and the reason so many of us kept going when life got difficult.
Today is about gratitude, memories, love, and honoring every woman who stepped into the role of a mother, protector, mentor, grandmother, aunt, or caregiver.
If your mother is still here, cherish her.
If she’s in a better place, honor her memory today and every day.

The Real and RE/MAX merger is a bigger deal than most people realize.
From a lender’s perspective, this is not just about 2 real estate companies joining forces.
This is about where the entire industry is heading.
RE/MAX is not just a real estate brand. They also own Motto Mortgage. So when Real steps in, they are not just gaining agents, offices, signs, and brand recognition. They are stepping into a much bigger ecosystem that includes mortgage, technology, data, AI, and the client relationship.
That matters.
A lot.
Rocket bought Redfin.
Compass bought Anywhere.
Now Real is merging with RE/MAX.
The pattern is getting very clear.
Big companies are not just trying to win 1 transaction anymore. They are trying to control the entire customer journey from the first home search to the final closing and everything that happens after.
That should be a major wake up call for lenders.
The days of sitting around waiting for agents to send over referrals are changing fast.
Agents need more than a lender with a rate sheet.

Someone who can move fast.
Someone who can save a deal.
Someone who knows how to help them win.
Someone who understands that speed and certainty can be the difference between getting the house and losing it.

Ray Combs will never fake it till he makes it. Everything I have is earned with honesty, integrity and no shortcuts.
For those that need to hear this on a Monday morning…
You don’t ever “arrive”… you just keep working.
I know what it feels like to be putting in more than most and still watching people act like they want it just as bad. They don’t. And that’s fine. Let them do what they do.
I’m not built like that.
I don’t cut corners. I don’t pretend. I don’t talk about it more than I do it.
Most people say they work hard. Very few actually show up every day and do it when it’s boring, when it’s stressful, when nobody is clapping.
That’s where separation happens.
While they’re posting, I’m working.
While they’re talking, I’m producing.
And over time that gap gets real wide.
Look at anyone at the top, they’re still working. There is no finish line where you just sit back and coast. That’s a lie people tell themselves.
If you’re tired, good.
If you’re frustrated, even better.
That means you’re in it for real.
And if you actually love the work, you already won.

✈️ 3 Years Ago Today I Bet On A Vision.
February 27, 2023 Mach Mortgage was born.
Not in a booming market.
Not with easy money.
Not with falling rates.
We launched in uncertainty.
May 2023 we became licensed… and almost immediately the market tightened.
Rates climbed.
Volume dropped.
Margins shrank.
Hurricanes hit Florida in 2023 and again in 2024.
For nearly four years this industry lived through one of the most brutal cycles in recent history.
And we chose to build right in the middle of it.
Let me be honest.
This journey cost more than people see on social media.
It cost sleep.
It cost comfort.
It tested relationships.
It revealed who was loyal and who was only around for sunshine.
There were moments where quitting would have been easier.
Moments where people doubted.
Moments where even I questioned how hard the climb would be.
But here is what I know:
If you build something during easy times, you never know how strong it really is.
If you build it in the storm… you find out.
