Tomorrow is a monumental day in our Nation's history. This new National Holiday, Juneteenth, celebrates the end of enslavement of African Americans here in the United States, on June 19th, 1865.

Although Abraham Lincoln enacted the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st, 1863, many African Americans weren't emancipated on that date. It was finally on June 19th, 1865 that all were free.

Happy Juneteenth to ALL Americans!

This ended up to be the coolest thing...I bought a front-loading Samsung washer and dryer in October of last year, and I LOVE them. Anyway, a few days ago, I thought I was losing my mind because the drying cycle seemed to be going way faster than my internal timer was calculating. I finally realized that the timer on the dryer wasn't working and a 42 minute cycle was shutting off after about 15 minutes. Seriously??! I went online to the Samsung site and was going to request service. I chose the reason for service, and a YouTube video came up. There are two sensors (silver, horizontal bars), on the front inside of the dryer that, when they get "dirty", stop sensing and screw up the timing of the cycle. It instructed me to get a soft cloth, a little liquid soap, and clean the sensor bars. I go in the dryer and there was hair stuck in between the sensor bars (my hair...I have a lot of it). I cleaned the sensor bars, pulled out the hair, and now the dryer works perfectly fine!!
