Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in business development, institutional sales, or advisor recruitment within financial services.
• Knowledge of RIA/IAR distribution, hedge funds, private placements, or alternative investments.
• Proven success in app development and distribution, capital fundraising, or advisor engagement.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to explain complex financial products.
• Existing advisor and/or investor network highly preferred.
• Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently VERY IMPORTANT.

Investment Advisor Representative (IAR)

Job Description
Duties:
· The IAR will be responsible to soliciting financial planning clients. The IAR will gather, in detail, the client's current financial position including assets, liabilities, cash management, employee benefits, insurance, estate plan and other detailed factors pertaining to client's financial position, individual goals and future objectives, as outlined in our Personal Information Form.
IAR will present the comprehensive financial plan to the client for their approval. IAR will present to the client an annual comprehensive financial plan update, in writing, as necessary in relation to conditions existing at the time of each annual review. IAR will answer client questions during the year via email or phone.

Knowledge & Experience:
· College degree is preferred. Financial services or sales experience of 5+ years is preferred.
· Licensure will include Series 65. Additional recognition such as MBA, CFP®, CFA or other approved designation is preferred.
· Identified representative will show strong sales and customer relationship experience, a full understanding of retirement and retirement income planning, full adherence to FINRA/DOL fiduciary standards (including delivery of service against those standards) and will be dedicated to delivering an outstanding customer experience with every customer interaction.
· Willingness to share best practices, strong work ethic, combination of inbound and outbound calling experience and leadership traits are expected.
· Maintains and applies expertise in insurance, securities, investments, and related areas in order to provide direction, instruction and guidance to service clients.

Stagflation is what we had in the 70s when inflation was high and the economy was slow. In other words, inflation causing a stagnant economy.
We saw some fears in Wall Street traders today that our economy may be slipping into a similar situation with the growth in the number jobs showing as slower and inflation remaining high.
This may cause the Federal Reserve to be hesitant to lower interest rates.

A big government jobs revision underscored a slowing US labor market, stoking fears of stagflation.

Welome to Canopy! We would like to do some economic commentary for our page. The above link is an article from Investor’s Business Daily, which is one of the many sites that we read to help develop our clients’ investment portfolios and comprehensive financial plans.
They give a basic summary of the day's economic news, which we like to delve into a little bit deeper. Keep in mind that news articles are written to sell newspapers or ads on the Internet ,so they tend to be overly dramatic and biased of course. Like in this one where the title says that the stock market slides, but it's actually only down a fraction of a percent, which is normal.
Their main story is that the Treasury Secretary for the White House is going to review the Federal Reserve’s functions. The Federal Reserve is a separate part of the government that controls interest rates. And the latest big debate is how independent they should be from the rest of the federal government. The general idea has been that the Federal Reserve should set interest rates based on the economy, not what the politicians want, because politicians from all parties of course want a booming economy to make themselves look good, even though that can often lead to high inflation and difficult times long term. This is all part of the continuing battle in governments over power for each branch. But it does have effects on the economy, which we track for our clients all day every day.
