🌪 Florida Insurance Tip:

A named storm deductible is NOT the same as your regular homeowners deductible.

Here’s the simple version:

If damage is caused by a “named storm” (like a hurricane or tropical storm officially named by the National Weather Service), a separate hurricane deductible may apply.

And unlike a flat $1,000 deductible…
named storm deductibles are usually a PERCENTAGE of your home’s insured value.

Example:
🏡 Home insured for $400,000
📌 2% hurricane deductible
💸 You could be responsible for the first $8,000 before insurance kicks in.

Many homeowners don’t realize this until after a storm.
