We lost a valued board member of Madison Parish Farm Bureau, Wade Hargrave, today. He served with a purpose and had a farmer’s heart. Our hearts are heavy and we will miss him. Our condolences go out to Cindy and family, as well as our love and prayers.

At a time when farmers are facing record-high diesel prices in the middle of harvest, every bit of relief matters.

I appreciate Governor Jeff Landry taking action to allow farmers and timber harvesters to use dyed off-road diesel in eligible highway vehicles. This will provide some immediate relief as farmers work to get this year’s crop out of the field and to market.

We just wanted to take a minute to share with you what Madison Parish Farm Bureau is all about. We’re about giving back to our members and community.

We offer over 2 dozen types of discounts for our members…from discounts on child car seats, hearing aids, prescriptions, car rentals, hotels, Sherwin Williams paint, Grasshopper mowers…. to Fords and John Deere…. And so many more. You get the idea.

Every year, we give awards to our member’s graduating seniors to further their careers. We help with the Council on Aging at Christmas. We support all our local 4H youth with donations. There are many more ways that we give back to OUR community to help in any way we can.

We’re about supporting our farmers, as we are a farming community. These farmers invest in our community and we invest in them.

Madison Parish Farm Bureau gifted ALL of our parish teachers with “goodie” bags to begin another year. These men and women are the “Difference Makers” in the lives of our parish youth. We appreciate each you!
