Boat, motorcycle, camper or side-by-side going into storage for the winter? 🛥️

A lot of people cancel the policy to save a few dollars. Then a storage barn catches fire, or the trailer gets stolen, and nothing is covered.

Many policies let you drop the driving coverage in the off-season and keep the theft and damage part at a much lower price. You stay protected, and you keep your history with the carrier.

If you plow driveways or parking lots in the winter, this one is for you. ❄️

Your personal auto policy most likely won't cover your truck once it's working for pay. And if someone slips on a lot you cleared, the claim can land on you.

It's Fire Prevention Week. Here is the one thing I wish every homeowner and renter did. 🔥

Walk thru your house with your phone and video every room. Open the closets and the drawers. Then save it somewhere outside the house, like your email or the cloud.

If you ever have a fire, the claim asks you to list everything you owned. Almost nobody can do that from memory.

It's also a good time to check whether your policy pays to replace your things or only what they were worth used. That difference can be thousands.

Fall is here, and this is the time of year that heads off winter claims. 🍂

Clean the gutters so ice doesn't back up under the shingles.
Unhook the garden hoses so the pipes don't freeze.
Get the furnace looked at.
Test your smoke detectors.
