November is Military Family Month, and for our Associate Wealth Advisor, Cindy Garcia, it’s personal.

Cindy served in the U.S. Army, where she met her husband while they served together as Army linguists. Her husband went on to serve in both the Marines and the Army, and Cindy later reenlisted with the Arizona National Guard. Now their daughter is following in their footsteps. She’s in JROTC in high school and plans to join the military herself.

To every military family in our community: thank you for your service and your sacrifice. 💙

With mortgage rates still elevated, some buyers are taking a closer look at adjustable-rate mortgages as a way to lower their initial borrowing costs. 🏡

The average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage rose to 6.79%, while the average rate for a 5/1 ARM fell to 5.94%. That gap helped push ARMs to 8% of mortgage applications in late August, their highest share in five weeks.

A lower starting rate can be appealing, but it’s only part of the picture. Because an ARM can adjust later, buyers should consider how a higher future payment could fit into their overall financial plan.
