For most of your working life, your paycheck shows up automatically. Retirement is different.
Your income may now come from several places - a pension, Social Security, investment accounts, deferred compensation and other savings.
The question becomes: How do you turn all of those different pieces into one reliable retirement paycheck?
That’s why retirement income planning is about more than simply accumulating enough money. You also need a plan for how that money will come back to you.

Most people spend years thinking about how much they need to save for retirement.
But another important question is:
How will that money be taxed when you start using it?
On Thursday, October 22, I’m hosting a webinar on Tax Diversification in Retirement.
We’ll talk about the differences between taxable, tax-deferred and tax-free money — and why having flexibility between those buckets can matter when you’re creating retirement income.

Retirement can feel overwhelming because there are so many decisions happening at the same time.
When should you retire? Which pension option should you choose? When should you take Social Security? How should your investments change? What will taxes look like?
The key is not trying to solve everything at once. A good retirement plan helps you put those decisions in the right order - so you can focus on the next decision instead of worrying about all of them at the same time.

Retirement isn’t just about how much you’ve saved — it’s about how well your plan can handle the risks that come with retirement.

Join me for my upcoming webinar, 5 Risks in Retirement, where we’ll talk through some of the biggest challenges retirees face and what you can do to prepare for them.

We’ll cover risks like:

• Market volatility
• Inflation
• Taxes
• Healthcare and long-term care costs
• Outliving your money

If you’re within a few years of retirement, this webinar will help you understand where your plan may be vulnerable — and what you should be thinking about before you retire.

Would you retire without knowing what your retirement paycheck is going to look like?
Before you turn in the paperwork, I believe you should rehearse retirement.
What will your pension provide? When will Social Security start? How much will you need from investments? What happens when taxes are factored in? And does that income actually support the life you want to live? Retirement is too big of a decision to simply hope the numbers work. Test the plan before you make the leap.

September has always felt a little like a second January.
Summer is winding down. Kids are back in school. Routines are starting again.
And it can be a good time to ask: Am I actually on track with my money - or have I just been busy?
You don't need to overhaul everything. Start by getting clear on what you're working toward, what your money is doing
today, and what your next financial priority should be.
Sometimes the best financial move isn't doing more. It's making sure what you're already doing is taking you where you want
to go.

📉 Here’s something I’ve been talking about a lot lately: the retirement risks that don’t show up on a statement.
Inflation is the big one. Prices rising 3% a year doesn’t sound dramatic — but over a 20+ year retirement, it can quietly cut the buying power of a fixed income nearly in half.
Groceries, insurance, travel, healthcare — the cost of the life you’re planning for won’t stand still, even if your income does.
That’s why I build plans around income that can grow and flex over time — not just a number that looks comfortable on day one.
👇 Have you looked at what your retirement income will need to cover 15 years in — not just year one?
