Today I had a meaningful conversation with a prospect where I took the time to thoroughly educate him on every aspect of coverage—what it is, how it works, and the real risks it helps protect against for him and his family. In the end, my quote was too high for his budget, and I didn’t win the sale today. But here’s the thing: while we agents can’t control rates, we can control the experience we provide.
After our call, he thanked me and said it was the best experience he’s ever had with an agent. He truly appreciated how I dug deep to understand his needs and explained everything so clearly—even a 5th grader could understand it.
I didn’t win the sale today, but I won his trust. And that trust is what sets the foundation for future success. Sometimes, you don’t win immediately, but what you do today can make all the difference down the road. Sales isn’t a sprint to the finish line—it’s a long game. Keep showing up, keep educating, and keep building trust. The results will follow.
Agents, I’d love to hear your stories! Have you had similar experiences where you didn’t close the sale immediately but built trust that paid off later? Share your stories below—let’s learn and grow together.
