Pumpkin season is here! 🎃🍂

The October F.A.R.M. Activity Bag is all about pumpkins! Learn how pumpkins grow, from the field to the pumpkin patch, and discover where your jack-o’-lantern actually comes from. 🌱🎃

Thanks to a Community Action Grant from Meta DeKalb Data Center, the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Foundation is providing FREE, hands-on F.A.R.M. bags through local libraries. Each bag includes a family-friendly agricultural activity, supplies, step-by-step instructions, and a related reading piece. 📚🌱

Stop by your local library and pick up an October F.A.R.M. Bag beginning this week while supplies last! Bags are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with one bag per household.

Don’t let this F.A.R.M. Bag pass you by, it’s sure to be a gourd time! 🎃🧡 🍂

Next month, our office will be partnering with Senator Dave Syverson and the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office to host a Mobile DMV event in Sycamore at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau on October 14, 2026. The event will allow constituents to complete basic driver services without having to make a trip to the DMV.

We’re excited to put them to use for more hands-on learning opportunities like this one at NIU STEAMfest, where students got to dissect corn kernels and explore what’s inside! 🌱🔍

DeKalb County Farm Bureau invited Tony McCombie, Citizens for Bradley J. Fritts, and Jeff Keicher for their roundtable event. During the event, DeKalb County Farm Bureau gave Friend of Agriculture awards out!
