That's a wrap on our 2026 Summer Ag Institute! 🌽🚜🥳

Thirteen area teachers participated in the four day graduate credit/professional development course. This year's theme, "Drones, Robots, and AI, Oh My!"

From hearing from industry experts to touring farms, agribusinesses, and agricultural facilities, participants gained firsthand experiences and classroom-ready ideas to help students better understand modern agriculture and the technology shaping its future.

A special thank you to our presenters and tour hosts, including: Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom, University of Illinois Extension, Illinois Technology Center, IL Corn, AHW LLC (Hampshire), Dumoulin Farm, Adams Farm, StillGrass Veterinarians, and ADM (Mendota), for sharing your time, knowledge, and expertise with our educators!

Thank you to all who helped make this year's Summer Ag Institute a success! We can't wait to see these new ideas come to life in classrooms across our county! 🌱📚

There's still time to register for Farm Safety Camp for kids! Join us on Wednesday, July 1st from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jonamac Orchard in Malta for Farm Safety Camp, a fun and educational day focused on staying safe on and around the farm!

Open to children ages 8-12, Farm Safety Camp features 12 hands-on safety stations led by local experts covering topics such as farm machinery, grain bins, first aid, fire safety, ATVs, electricity, farm animals, bicycle safety, and more. 🌽🚜⚠️🚒

✅ Registration Fee: $10
✅ Includes lunch, a t-shirt, and safety materials
