If your bankruptcy is being reported incorrectly on your credit report, that is not just an error, it may be a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Under the FCRA, creditors and credit bureaus are required to report accurate, complete, and verifiable information.
When they fail to do that, consumers have the right to dispute the information and in some cases pursue legal action (including cash settlements) at NO COST to them.
Here is what that looks like in practice:
Chapter 7 stays on your report for 10 years from the filing date.
Chapter 13 stays for 7 years.
👉🏽If the reporting date is wrong
👉🏽the account statuses tied to the bankruptcy are inaccurate
👉🏽the discharge date is missing or incorrect or accounts that were included in the bankruptcy are still showing as open balance
Those are actually quite common and reportable violations.
We work with attorneys who review your file at no cost to you.
If violations are found, they take action.
‼️You do not pay unless there is a recovery‼️
This is not credit repair.
This is consumer protection law working the way it was designed to.
