Northern Utah has a strong wind advisory in place through Saturday night. Everybody should check the yards and check their roof so that you know the condition of things, perhaps even take a picture of your roof so that if there's wind damage you can prove that the damage came from the wind storm of this weekend.

38 years ago today I attended my first class of the martial arts.

The lessons and the personal refinement that I have gained over these past 38 years is beyond anything that I could ever hope to express, nor am I going to try to.

Over these years the most important things that I have gained through my study of the martial arts is an awareness of myself, an awareness of other people and an awareness with God.

In these 38 years I have never been in a street fight, but, out on the street, I use the lessons that I have learned everyday. The number one lesson that I have learned is the absolute necessity to serve everyone and to use your gifts and talents to improve their life and bring joy to their heart.

In this world few people understand who they truly are and in absence of pure understanding they make assumptions about themselves that are influenced by the world around them, without taking time to truly understand the questions that they are asking or the answers that they are interpreting.
