The 2020 tax season could be the season that we see old problems resurface and set of new issues emerge. We’re roughly halfway through 2019, which means the 2020 tax season will soon be upon us.

Here are some of the common tax problems of 2020 that we should all be aware of:

No longer federal penalty for not having health insurance
Medical deductions is 10% of adjusted gross income threshold.

Alimony payments will NOT be deductible.

Slight increase to HSA contribution limits

Failure to report all income will be charge hectic penalties

Failure to pay quarterly estimated taxes for 1099 earners (Freelancers and self employed) can trigger late fees and interest on top of the base tax figure.

Failure to file on time as a result face penalties, fees and other inconveniences.
