What do books, marshmallows and saving have in common? A lesson in financial wellness!

We loved visiting Franklin Elementary School in Oakland to help students kick off their savings journey with How to Turn $100 into $1,000,000 from Biz Kid$. Students even got to put the idea of earning interest into practice with a sweet marshmallow challenge!

Each student went home with resources to keep the learning going and a special opportunity for $100 from Patelco to start building their own savings. We’re looking forward to continuing the fun with students and their families at an upcoming Family Financial Literacy Night.

Teachers give so much to their students and communities, and we loved being part of an event dedicated to giving back to them.

Our Castro Valley team joined the JTA Foundation in Oakland to help celebrate local educators and provide school supplies for teachers in the Oakland Unified School District.
