From heartfelt stories to inspiring leaders, this year’s SHE Shines event was a celebration of women rising together. We were thrilled to co-sponsor the event, hosted by the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce. The day was centered around the theme “United Identity: Rising Together.” One highlight was the Generations of Strength Leadership Panel, where mother-daughter duos shared their unique takes on leadership across generations. We’re so grateful to be part of a community that empowers and uplifts women every day!

Each of these students stands out for their academic achievements, leadership in school activities, and meaningful contributions to their communities. We’re excited to congratulate the Leadership Sumter Class of 2025–2026, a 9-month program created by the Sumter Chamber of Commerce to bring community members together to learn, lead, and network. SAFE Federal Credit Union is especially proud to have had two employees, Mekeisha Gibbons and Rob Tillman, take part in this transformative experience. Over the course of the program, they built strong connections, expanded their knowledge of Sumter, and honed leadership skills that will benefit our community for years to come. We’re so proud of you two!

Bring your sensitive documents to SHRED DAY at the Florence branch on Tuesday, May 5! Head to 1319 Second Loop Rd. from 11AM – 2PM for secure shredding by Shred360. We'll be collecting cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dish detergent, laundry baskets and monetary donations for Lighthouse Ministries, Florence, SC. All are welcome, rain or shine!

We’re excited to highlight our partner, Liberty STEAM Charter: A School of Inquiry, Innovation, & Impact, whose scholars recently visited our Operations Building for a hands-on budgeting session with SAFE’s financial counselor, Shretta Godbolt.
