We are currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor & Tec. These are full time positions, full benefit package, and retirement offered. The hours are M-F, 8:30-5:30.
The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of all maintenance activities within the facility. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating repair and maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience with high voltage systems, HVAC, and logic controllers.
Maintenance technicians should have the following skills and experience:
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
Good physical condition.

The following are inclement weather makeup days for Sumter School District: January 19 (due to Hurricane Irma), February 19 (due to snow/ice day), and March 29 (due to snow/ice day). These days were previously listed as in-service/workdays and are listed on our calendar for inclement weather makeup days. The Board voted last night to waive the third day that was missed due to the snow/ice.

State law mandates that school districts use the inclement weather days indicated on their calendars as makeup days. School districts are required to make up the first three days. If more than three days are missed, the local school board of trustees, by a majority vote, may waive no more than three days.

We are shifting the dates for End-of-Course testing and high school exams to accommodate the weather cancellations. High school exams will move to January 18 and 19, and End-of-Course testing will move to the 11th, 12th, 16th, and 17th. As a reminder, January 18 and 19 are full days for student attendance.
