CRISPR technology is an exciting new technology that can be used to more efficiently modify DNA.

While DNA modification has been done since the 1970s to create things like improved food and altered animals, it has so far been expensive, complicated, and time-consuming.

With CRISPR technology, genetic engineering has become much cheaper and quicker, which will likely change the world in a similar way that the advent of internet did.

😷 At the first stage, we will be able to use it to fight diseases like cancer and HIV.

👶 Later, we will be able to use it to modify DNAs of babies, where we can remove the risk of diseases and ensure positive qualities such as higher intelligence, better metabolism, and longer life length.

🥈 When you have a bit more money, you have more to lose, but will still need decent returns. Because of this, you should start diversifying more at this stage and allocate a part of your money towards safe assets.

🥇 When you have a lot of money, you have a lot to lose, and protecting money starts to become more important than making more money. Because of this, you should at this stage allocate the majority of your money towards safe assets, and only make risky bets with a small portion of your wealth.

🧠 Neuralink, led by Elon Musk, is building innovative technology called brain-machine-interface which essentially works as a computer connected to the brain.

🔜 While it is not yet live on the market it has been testing successfully on monkeys, and an early version will likely become available in the market in the next decade.

The device itself is similar in size to a coin and is inserted with an operation that replaces a part of the skull with the device, which connects to the brain through nodes.

While many people talk about stocks in terms of stock prices, the more relevant thing to look at is their market cap, which is the value of the total company rather than the value of one share of the company.⁠

In general, there are 3 ways that countries tax people:

🏠 Based on tax residency on global income is the most common. This means that anyone who is permanently established in a country is liable to pay taxes on their worldwide income to that country.

🇺🇸 Citizenship based on global income, which is a system only used in the US and Eritrea. This means that anyone who is a citizen of these countries will be liable to pay taxes on their worldwide income no matter where they live, unless that country has a tax treaty with the country of citizenship.

🌇 Territory based where residents are only taxed income generated within that country, and not on global income. Examples of countries with territorial taxation are Thailand and Singapore.

In addition to these systems, there are also countries with zero-tax systems and so-called non-dom systems.

💰 Sales, a skill that provides revenue to the business which helps it survive and grow. Without strong sales, even great products die, as it relates to all aspects of the business, including not only getting customers but also getting suppliers, employees, and investors.

💻 Building, which most commonly involves being able to create software through design and coding (but could also mean building any non-digital product). This is where real innovation happens, and where businesses can gain scalability, defensibility, and increased valuations.
