What an amazing 11 months!

Yesterday, the Leadership Dorchester Class of 2023 cut the ribbon and officially opened Huger Playground for the community to enjoy for years to come! Thank you to everyone who has supported this project from the beginning and helped us celebrate yesterday as we unveiled the park!

For the last 11 months, a group of 30 or so of us have worked, learned, and experienced our Community together through the Leadership Dorchester program. I can honestly say that this has been the best community based experience of my life.

Part of LD is doing a project within the community, and we (along with many others!) revitalized Huger Park in Summerville. It’s been an honor to serve alongside these awesome people. Lifelong friendships and partnerships have been made.

Today we were able to present it to our community and welcome them to do something that is so important: play.

I was so happy to be able to be a small part of this awesome group and also bring something dear to my heart to the playground. Parks should be for any and all. Accessibility is key. Barriers to play shouldn’t exist.

My family is proud to donate this communication board to the whole community. It was a true honor to be able to honor Noah in the process and share what we have been doing with the whole community!
