Meet Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) and Affiliated Companies’ next Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer: Dr. Whit Weems.

After a decade with TFB, Weems will step into the role in December, bringing a wealth of experience to TFB and associated industries and a strong understanding of Texas agriculture.

Weems will assume the duties of the executive director/COO position on Dec. 6. Current TFB and Affiliated Companies Executive Director/COO Si Cook officially retires in January 2027.

We're bringing the farm to the classroom again in Fall 2026! K-12 public, private, and homeschool classrooms can virtually meet farmers, ranchers, and ag professionals to learn more about agriculture through our Farm From School program.

It's FREE!

There will be separate programs with specific lessons tailored to grades K-5 and 6-12.

This learning experience is part of our Student Success Series.

Students participating in this program will develop public speaking and leadership skills, learn more about the free enterprise system and hear from engaging motivational speakers. Plus, they’ll dive deeper into digital advocacy efforts and participate in a media training.

Thrive will take place July 31 - Aug. 2 in Waco.

Registration closes July 14 and is limited to the first 150 students who sign up.
