Experience: 3-5 years in System Administration

Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science)/Bachelor of Technology/Bachelor of Science (IT Major) or equivalent

Position Summary: Responsible for the operations support of all EDGE196 applications suite and all of our key applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- System Administration support to ensure the smooth running of EDGE196 apps suite.

- Support users tickets regarding system administration work pertaining to all EDGE196 Infrastructure components including Cloud, servers, digital security, etc.

- Monitoring network performance and cloud resources.

- Manage the metrics and overall usage of several AWS resources.

- Maintain the backups of these resources via regular on-premises backups.

- Manage and optimize plans and costs for Cloud governance, reporting, and budgeting.

- Manage the end-to-end AWS life cycle including provisioning, automation, and security.

- Fine-tuning and configuring various cloud infrastructures.

- Creating backups and managing disaster recovery.

- Application patch & release management.

- Configuration management.

- Performance management.

- Capacity utilization reporting.

Competencies Required:

- Extensive systems administration background.

- Experienced with AWS.

- Experience with other cloud infrastructure environments like Azure is good to have.

- Experience with these technologies is good to have: MEAN/MERN stack, REST APIs, and blockchain technologies.

- Experience with DevOps tools like JIRA, BitBucket, Docker, Kubernetes, OpsGenie.

- Deep knowledge of SDLC.

- Ability to work in a team environment and excellent communications skills.

- Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills

Experience Required:

Core competencies for the role include:

- Hands-on with AWS tools and environment.

- Hands-on with DevOps tools.

- Support experience, preferably in a Transactional intensive environment, of supporting critical commercial applications and user interfaces.

- Hands-on experience with different databases e.g. MongoDB, MySQL, No SQL etc.

Preferred skills (not mandatory but good to have):

- Blockchain, preferably Ethereum family.

- Application scalability and performance tuning.

- Security protocols.

EDGE196 is an investment group located in Sugar Land, Texas. We have the goal of investing in at least one startup in every country around the world (196, to be exact!).

We're hiring interns who are interested in learning more about digital community engagement through social media, international partnership development, and industry research.

The ideal candidate will have high energy, positive thinking, and motivation to find solutions and take action. Junior- and senior-year students are ideal, as well as recent graduates. The position is part-time and paid. Houston-area candidates are welcome to gain in-person experience as our offices follow the latest CDC guidelines and international candidates will be remote.
