What should you do if you're involved in an incident with a possible bodily injury claim? Our in-house expert, Pledge Claims Liaison Deb Beeler, has the answer!

“Here’s your checklist for what to document and report after a potential bodily injury claim,” she says.
• First, document the date, time, and location of the incident, along with a clear description of what happened. Stick to the facts and avoid admitting fault or speculating about responsibility.
• Gather the names and contact information of everyone involved, including witnesses.
• Take photos or video of the scene, surroundings, property damage, or equipment involved when it’s safe to do so.
• Note any injuries that were reported or observed and whether medical attention or emergency services were requested.
• Preserve any records, reports, and correspondence.
• Be sure to report the incident to your insurance agent or carrier promptly.
