Tenant Occupied Rental homes, multi sectioned manufactured homes and mobile homes, single, double and triples

VRBO, short-term rentals and similar are too!

Snapshot Pro℠ coming this fall!

New name!
New benefits!

This fall, Progressive will combine Snapshot Proview and Smart Haul into a simplified telematics program for all Commercial Auto customers—meaning more savings, better tools and easier conversations!

What’s new:

Snapshot Pro℠ will come with deeper participation discounts upon enrollment for both Small Business and Trucking risks.*

New ways to share driving data for customers who have their own telematics device (like an ELD) and those who don’t have their own device. Premium may increase if connection is not maintained.

Personalized renewal rates for all Commercial Auto customers, including truckers.

Expanded access to the Driving Dashboard for those who use Progressive-provided devices.

Additional savings with qualified dashcams for all business classes.

Updated Personal Auto rates
New business effective: October 1, 2026
Renewal business effective: October 1, 2026

The Reinsurance Facility clean loss allocation surcharge was changed from 2.22% to 0.56%. This state-mandated change applies to all policyholders in North Carolina.
We are adding new deductible options for Other than Collision and Collision coverages.
Customers will now be able to select deductibles in the amount of $750, $1,500 or $2,000 in addition to the currently available deductibles of $50, $100, $250, $500 and $1,000.

Well, it is not much, but it looks like we are all getting a tax cut on our auto insurance in North Carolina. Recoupment is the code word for tax on your policy.

Lower recoupment surcharges from the NCRF

Effective October 1, 2026, the North Carolina Rate Bureau (NCRB) and North Carolina Reinsurance Facility (NCRF) will be making updates to recoupment costs for personal auto, commercial auto, motorcycle and RV policies.

This is a universal change that will affect all policies written in NC, including clean and unclean policies ceded to the NCRF, regardless of the carrier.

Here is what's new:
Personal auto and motorcycle recoupment for clean risks is lowering from 2.0% to 0.5%.

Commercial auto and RV recoupment is lowering from 2.98% down to 1.12%.
