Have you placed your home in a trust, then you need to notify your insurance agent as soon as possible and add the trust as an insured party, ensuring that proper coverage for the property is also under the new ownership. If you do not notify your insurance agent, you leave potential gaps in coverage if a claim arises. It is also important to know that if your home is listed in a trust that some umbrella insurance policies will not allow a home in a trust to be listed on the policy. Contact your insurance agent for additional information or questions on your current policy.
