Maureen Klause recently submitted this impressive 3.52-kilogram (7-pound, 12-ounce) sheepshead. With this fish Maureen could potentially set the IGFA Women’s 4-kg (8 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. She was fishing with captain Daniel Schafer aboard the when this potential record sheepshead struck her bottom sweeper jig. After a 10-minute fight she was able to land the sheepshead and return to the docks so she could record an official weight on her certified scale. This record is currently pending and under review.
