Refiner update: green light on most items!

We're still working through some backlog of metals & cash flow yet We're back to somewhat normal operations. We've had to make a few changes with our refiner relationships and hope we can continue to offer fair and efficient service. Silver scrap items........ We're not sure what we're wanting to do. We have approximately 20,000+ Oz worth thats currently frozen for another month or 3 and we can't price or sell any of it until they finalize melt assays.

Today we hit the wall at Avenue Coin. We are now in semi shutdown until we clear some of our obligations. We are open for buyers. We are open for sellers of Gold 1-Oz Maples, Eagles and Buffalos. We are open for sellers of collector coins and paper money. Gold scrap sellers are going to have to wait 3-10 days. Silver scrap sellers (jewelry, flatware) and US 40% and 90% coin silver are going to have to wait longer, great uncertainty, probably at least 3-5 weeks, maybe longer. Everything depends on getting millions of dollars currently tied up at the refineries restored to our cash flow. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not create obligations that we can't keep. The refining delay problem is industry-wide and hopefully a very temporary issue!

Craig Hemke is a terrific resource for investment sanity.

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com Financial writer, market analyst and precious metals expert Craig Hemke predicted at the beginning of 2025 that the US dollar would have a “vast devaluation.” One look at the explosive record setting gold and silver price gains and you can see this was a correc...

POST WORTHY super scarce coin here. $4 Stella Gold that Bob wrote an appraisal on 28 years ago. What a cool nostalgia moment for him to see his old stationary document and complete the purchase all these years later. And now we own it. Enjoy 'googling' this lady up!

Most of the on-line coin valuation websites and the latest generation phone apps are offering pie-in-the-sky valuations that are simply not realistic. It is sort of like suggesting to a five-year-old boy who has normal-size parents that he's going to be 7 feet tall when he grows-up. Sure it is POSSIBLE that he matures to be a 7-footer, however, THE CHANCES OF THAT HAPPENING ARE SO REMOTE THAT SUCH A SUGGESTION IS TANTAMOUNT TO LYING.

That's what we are finding with most of these on-line information sites and phone apps. They generally create UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS. We come to realize that they are looking for clicks as opposed to trying to be helpful.

I was just thinking about the year 1982. 1982 was the first year of the Canadian Gold Maple leaf bullion coin. 1982 was also the first year of the Chinese Panda bullion series. 1982 was also the first year of the Mexican Libertad silver bullion coins. 1982 was the first year of US Modern Commemorative coins, initiated with the George Washington Half Dollar. It turns out that 1982 was also the year that the lowly Lincoln Cent transitioned from being composed of Bronze and weighing 3.1 grams, it became copper-plated Zinc weighing 2.5 grams. 1982 was a year of BIG CHANGES.

25-year chart on gold price reveals the tumultuous erosion of the Dollar's decline in purchasing power. To my eye the recent inflection point shows that the loss of confidence is accelerating.

My advice for examining gold and silver Canadian Maples qualitatively:

My advice is this: Put your primary attention on the "heads" side of the coin, not the maple leaf side.

A defect on the maple leaf side often barely shows, usually lost in the design elements.

In contrast, any defect on the "heads" side of the coin usually shows blatantly, all because of the design. Any trace of friction will show easily on the monarch's face, while you're less likely to detect friction on the Maple leaf side.

You'll still want to give the Maple leaf side a quick look for spots and blemishes, however, chances are, appearance issues will be on the other side of the coin. - Robert
