❄️ EXTREME COLD WEATHER ALERT ⚠️

Protect your pipes NOW 🥶🚰

Find your water shutoff valve TODAY. When pipes freeze, they often burst when temperatures rise and thawing begins. Turning off the water can prevent major flooding, water damage, and mold.

Pipes are at high risk when temperatures drop to 20° or below—especially in basements, crawl spaces, garages, and exterior walls.

HOW TO PREVENT FROZEN PIPES:
• Let water run in a steady stream (not just a drip)
• Open kitchen and bathroom cabinets to allow warm air to circulate
• Keep your thermostat consistent day and night (55–68°F minimum)
• Insulate exposed pipes with foam sleeves, heat tape, or towels
• Seal cracks around doors, foundations, and pipe entry points
• Keep garage doors closed
• Flush toilets periodically to keep water moving

IF A PIPE FREEZES:
• If water slows to a trickle, a pipe is likely frozen
• Thaw slowly using a hair dryer, heating pad, or space heater
• Start at the faucet and work toward the frozen section
• Turn faucets on to relieve pressure
• NEVER use an open flame
• If a pipe bursts, shut off the main water valve immediately
