Most people think estate planning is just about having the right paperwork.
But for me — it’s deeply personal.
My background is in business, equipment, and software financing, and over four years ago I got my life and health insurance license because I wanted to make a bigger impact. I’ve sat with hundreds of families who wanted to “leave the house to the kids” or “make things simple someday.”
But without the right paperwork… they were leaving everything to chance. Their house will end up in probate costing them 3-10% of their total Estate Size.
That didn’t sit right with me. Because I know firsthand how much a properly structured plan can change a life.
When I was 25, I was newly divorced and starting over. My mom had taken care of a sweet woman from our church — Grandma Helen — for 12 years. When Grandma Helen passed, she left her entire estate to my mom, who became the sole beneficiary of her trust.
That trust ended up being one of the biggest gifts our family ever received. It gave me a place to live when I needed stability most. Later, I became tenants-in-common with my parents and used a trust to protect their interests, ensuring that if anything ever happened to them, their portion was safeguarded for my siblings.
That experience changed the trajectory of my life. It showed me the true power of having the right plan — how it can protect, empower, and create generational stability.
Today, through McKale Advisory Group, I help individuals and families do the same — using my Family Tree Asset Position Interview to make sure your estate plan, finances, and life insurance actually work together to protect your loved ones.
Because estate planning isn’t just about avoiding probate…
It’s about creating peace of mind, clarity, and legacy.
