**UPDATE** Thank you so much to everyone who has donated items in the past few weeks. Your generosity is so touching. It is encouraging to witness what happens when neighbors show up to support each other.

The Verona Community Center has asked that we pause the influx of donations at this time. They are sorting everything and distributing it to other local non-profits.

Thank you so much to Brenda Hagg and Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church for donating their small fellowship hall. It is serving as a temporary storage and sorting area.

Thank you to the Talented and Gifted students from Mary Baldwin University that came out to help us move and sort items. Many hands make light work.

ORIGINAL POST:
As you are cleaning out your closets, please, consider bringing in any gently used item listed so that we can share the bounty with our unsheltered neighbors.
Items can be placed in the boxes under our Community Coat Rack in the lobby.

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to be more engaged with your community, consider serving on a City board or commission. These volunteer groups help advise City Council and staff on topics like planning, housing, parks, historic preservation, and more.

Residents from all backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply. You don’t need prior government experience—just an interest in helping shape Staunton’s future.

Make 2026 the year you get more involved with your community!
