We had a spooky good time at Big Bingo this weekend! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre County hosted a Halloween-themed Big Bingo, with all proceeds going back to the program.

Arize was honored to be in the first round of Business of the Year nominations, alongside many other amazing businesses.

Happy Feel Good Friday!
We had a member whose account was previously compromised due to the member getting scammed over the phone. It got to the point where her phone was hacked, and she could no longer use it. Just a couple of days ago, she came into the Benner Pike branch and wanted to set up online banking for her newly established account. Because her previous phone wasn't scrubbed, we advised her not to use mobile banking services at this time. However, the member really wanted to use the services because she can't get to our branches regularly.
The member told us she bought a new phone and showed us both devices. After checking with our compliance team, we reached a compromise. We advised the member that if she could have her old phone scrubbed, we could grant her online banking privileges. However, the member couldn't access the old phone at all because the scammer locked it with a PIN she didn't know. Luckily, the Senior Member Advocate helping this member had previously worked at a Verizon retailer and had experience with these issues. After just a few minutes on the phone, the Senior Member Advocate factory-reset the device without a PIN. The member and our compliance team felt more at ease knowing this issue was resolved.
Our staff is always willing to go the extra mile and use their knowledge from previous jobs to best serve our members!

Thursday, October 1st, both State College branches will be closed so our staff can participate in Centre County United Way Day of Caring. Our Huntingdon branch will remain open.

Tuesday, October 6th, we will be closing our branches early for a staff retreat. Our Huntingdon branch will close at 11:30 am and our State College branches will close at 12 pm.

Monday, October 12th, all of our branches will be closed for Columbus Day.

Thursday, October 15th, our Benner Pike branch will close at 4 pm to set up for our CBICC After Hours event.

This Tuesday, we closed our branches early to invest in our staff and host our staff retreat at Penn State! We celebrated our culture and commitment to our communities by recognizing two staff members who went above and beyond for our team and our members. Mike Scott received the Values in Action Award, and Crystal Sunderland received the Annual Culture Award. Congratulations to Mike and Crystal!

We kicked off our Annual United Way Campaign and hosted Centre County United Way and its partner agencies, The Tides Program and Child Development and Family Council of Centre County, Inc..

We wrapped up the afternoon with a tour of Beaver Stadium! We saw the locker room set up for the Whiteout game, walked through the gates onto the field, and toured many different areas of the stadium.
