We are so proud to share that our very own, Eric Kelly has officially passed his CT property and casualty exam and is officially a licensed insurance producer.

Eric’s journey began with us at a recent networking event we attended where he was working the door of a restaurant. Eric hit it off with our owner, , where he shared he was majoring in insurance. Austin liked his story and decided to give him a shot as a summer intern. Almost immediately, Eric showed his value and proved his worth. Austin was happy with this, as it reminded him of his journey into the insurance industry. Austin made a deal with Eric… if he could pass his insurance exam on the first try, he would become Austin’s full time assistant and get to learn the business from the ground up.

Safeshield Insurance is looking for a highly motivated and experienced personal lines account manager to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in personal lines insurance, including auto and home insurance. We are looking for someone who is licensed and has prior experience working with our operating system, ezlynx.

We place a high emphasis on using technology to streamline the process of buying insurance and providing education to our clients throughout their buying experience. The Personal Lines Account Manager will be responsible for servicing our existing clients, processing applications, and advising clients on suitable coverage options. While a funny reference, this happens far too often. 🙃

Last week, one of our clients came to us with their insurance policy for a 6 unit-mixed use building. With this type of risk, it needed to be insured on a commercial policy with specific coverages to not only protect the owners building, but also their liability from a business being operated out of their building. 🔑
•
The client asked us to help him understand his current insurance policy as well, (and this is where it gets crazy). The client was insured on a PERSONAL insurance policy as a 4 family unit with no business use. His current insurance was missing two units and not extending any liability to protect their entity from claims arising via the business that was operating out of their building. 🚫
•
Unfortunately, had their been a loss while the client was covered under this policy, it’s very possible the insurance company may have denied his claim due to misrepresentation. The client did not know his property was insured incorrectly though, he trusted the broker he worked with. 🤝
•
With that being said, we were able to get him a new policy that insured his property correctly and helped him understand what the key differences were and how to avoid this situation in the future. 🔐
•
It isn’t always about price. It’s about making sure you’re protected properly so in the event of a loss you have no doubts! ⭐️

Did your escrow analysis look higher this year? ⬆️

Most insurance carriers took large rate increases this year on home insurance which in turn, could play a large part in your mortgage payments going up. 🏡
•
Most often, your mortgage is paid via your escrow account which among other things contains your home insurance. Most people just accept their mortgage cost increasing without getting to the reason of WHY! Increasing insurance costs can lead to an increasing mortgage cost… and no one wants to pay more money! 💰
•
