The Medicaid Renewal Process and Broker involvement!
During the unwinding of the continuous enrollment requirement, brokers and agents have become vital partners in helping affected individuals secure new coverage. Aetna and other insurers have outlined key steps and strategies for brokers to assist clients:
Updating contact information: Brokers should encourage clients to make sure the state Medicaid agency has their current mailing address, phone number, and email. The state relies on this information to send renewal letters and request additional details.
Completing renewal forms: For members whose coverage is not renewed automatically, a renewal form must be completed and returned by the deadline to avoid a gap in coverage. Brokers can assist clients with this process.
Helping disenrolled members: When a member loses their Medicaid eligibility, brokers can help them explore new options. Many people who lose Medicaid will be eligible for a subsidized plan on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace. Aetna CVS Health offers ACA plans for which these clients may qualify.

IS THE MARETPLACE Requiring you to prove income? Some news outlets are reporting you will have to verify your income on the ACA every year now. Well, true, and not true. Every year, the ACA Marketplace requires you to update your income. I have done this every year for 12 years for ALL of my ACA clients. So this is not new for my group.
