One of the things I enjoy most about what I do has nothing to do with mortgages.

It's the people.

I've always believed that if you spend time around good people, ask questions, and actually listen, you'll learn things that no book, podcast, or YouTube video can teach you.

Every person has a story.
Every person has experiences that shaped them.
And if you're paying attention, there's usually something you can take away from every conversation.

As I've gotten older, I've learned that relationships are one of the most valuable investments you can make.

Grateful for the chance to meet great people, hear their stories, and continue learning along the way.

Scored an 805 on the punching machine this week.

Not bad for an old mortgage guy. 😂

But it got me thinking about something I see all the time.

Most people underestimate what they're capable of.

They assume they can't buy a home yet.
They assume they won't qualify.
They assume they need another year, more savings, or perfect circumstances before they can move forward.

Sometimes the biggest thing holding us back isn't reality. It's the story we've convinced ourselves is true.

Now, that doesn't mean everyone is ready today. But I've had plenty of conversations with people who were a lot closer than they thought.

Sometimes you've just got to take a swing and see what happens.

You might surprise yourself.

Had a great time at the Washington Street Mission golf outing last week.

One thing I love about events like this is that you get to catch up with people you haven't seen in a while and meet new people who care about making our community better.

I've said it before, but some of the best opportunities in life and business come from simply showing up, being involved, and building genuine relationships over time.

Plus, it doesn't hurt when you get to spend a day on the golf course for a good cause.

Grateful to be part of a community that supports organizations like Washington Street Mission and all the work they do.

Hope everyone is having a great start to summer.

Happy Friday, everyone.

As I wrap up the week, I'm grateful for the conversations, the new relationships, and the families who trusted me to be part of their homeownership journey.

One thing this week reinforced is that despite all the headlines, market noise, and uncertainty, people are still moving forward. They're still growing their families, changing jobs, needing more space, and making plans for the future.

The people having success right now aren't waiting for perfect conditions. They're focusing on what they can control and making informed decisions along the way.
For now, though, it's Friday.

Time to enjoy a little sunshine, support a local business, spend time with family and friends, and recharge for the week ahead.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

One of the best parts of my job has nothing to do with mortgages.

It's the people.

Over the years, I've learned that strong communities aren't built by transactions. They're built by relationships. They're built by showing up, supporting local businesses, attending events, and getting to know the people who make our communities better.

That's one of the reasons I enjoy being involved with our local chambers and community organizations. Every conversation has the potential to turn into a friendship, a partnership, or an opportunity to help someone down the road.

You never know where a simple introduction will lead.

The older I get, the more I realize that success isn't just about what you know. It's about who you're willing to invest your time in and how you serve the people around you.

Grateful for the relationships, the conversations, and the chance to be part of such a great community.

Success looks different at 45 than it did at 25.

At 25, I thought success was all about the next promotion, the bigger paycheck, or the next milestone.

Today, success looks a lot more like this.

A summer evening.
A view of the water.
Good health.
Family and friends nearby.

And the ability to help people for a living.

One thing I've learned over the years is that financial goals matter, but only because of what they allow you to do. The real goal isn't the house, the boat, or the number in the bank account.

It's having the freedom to spend time doing the things you enjoy with the people who matter most.

Hope everyone is finding a little time to enjoy the season. Summer doesn't last forever.

One of my favorite things about this time of year is how life seems to slow down just enough to enjoy it.

The golf courses are busy. The boats are back on the water. Families are spending more time together.

Friends are finding excuses to get outside.

For me, boating season has always been less about the boat and more about the people on it.

Some of the best conversations happen when there’s no schedule, no meetings, and no distractions. Just good company, open water, and a little fresh air.

Hope everyone is finding some time this summer to unplug, enjoy the people around them, and make a few memories along the way.

Life moves fast. Days like these are worth appreciating.
