🌟 : SHRM of Greater St. Louis 🌟

The best HR communities don’t just hand out information. They help people stay steady in work that’s constantly changing.

That’s a big part of what SHRM of Greater St. Louis does. Their chapter gives members access to monthly programs, an HR Toolbox webinar series, a legal update, and a full annual conference. Altogether, members can earn 30+ SHRM and HRCI recertification credits in a 12-month period. That’s a pretty strong sign that this chapter is built to help HR professionals keep learning and keep growing.

If you’re in HR and looking for a community that blends practical learning with real connection, this is one worth knowing.

🤖 AI isn’t just a tech topic anymore. It’s quickly becoming a leadership topic.

A new episode from Associations Now looks at why AI certification is starting to matter more for association leaders. One point that really stands out: the bigger risk may not be AI replacing people, but organizations falling behind because their leaders don’t know how to use it well. The conversation also gets practical, pointing to simple starting points like meeting summaries, email drafting, and research, backed by clear policies and disclosures.

That’s a helpful reminder for associations. AI fluency doesn’t have to mean becoming a technical expert overnight. But it does mean understanding enough to ask good questions, guide responsible use, and make smart decisions for your team and members. The episode also notes that AI can support personalization, staff and board education, and even new products and services.

🌟 : Kansas ACC 🌟

Strong chapter communities don’t happen by accident. They’re built when people feel like there’s a place for them to learn, contribute, and grow at every stage of their career.

That’s one of the things Kansas ACC seems to be doing really well. In addition to education and advocacy, they’ve been creating more intentional ways for members to connect through Women in Cardiology, Fellows-in-Training, and Early Career sections. It’s a smart reminder that supporting heart health also means supporting the people doing the work.

🌍 Geopolitical disruption can feel like “someone else’s issue” until it starts affecting your events, travel, member engagement, or board conversations.

A new episode from Associations Now explores exactly that. It looks at how associations are navigating a world with more uncertainty, more pressure to respond, and more questions about what staying mission-focused really looks like.

What stood out to us is this: strong leadership doesn’t mean pretending disruption isn’t happening. It means communicating clearly, planning ahead, and staying grounded in your mission when the landscape gets messy.

💬 What’s the hardest part for associations right now: planning for uncertainty, protecting engagement, or knowing when to speak up?

🌟 : Saint Louis Attractions Association 🌟

The visitor experience doesn’t start at the front gate. It starts with the people behind the scenes who care enough to make a city feel inviting, fun, and worth coming back to.

That’s a big part of what SLAA does. Since 1987, they’ve brought together attractions, hospitality groups, tour companies, restaurants, and other tourism partners across the St. Louis region. And since 1991, they’ve also invested in the future of the industry through the Carole Moody Scholarship for students pursuing tourism and hospitality careers.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Mykkia Henderson! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating Mykkia Henderson and the strength, professionalism, and heart she brings to Q&A Business Solutions.

With more than a decade of experience in administrative support, Mykkia has a real gift for creating smooth, positive experiences for the clients and teams she works with. She wears a lot of hats, steps up when help is needed, and has a way of picking up the ball and running with it no matter what the day brings.

This year especially, we’ve seen just how strong and determined she is. Mykkia continues to show up with grace, resilience, and a steady commitment to the people around her, and that kind of strength leaves a mark.

Mykkia, thank you for the care, initiative, and perseverance you bring to your work every day. We’re grateful to have you on the QABS team and hope your birthday brings real joy, rest, and the celebration you deserve. 🌟

Please join us in wishing Mykkia a very happy birthday!

🤖 AI can make work faster. That doesn’t automatically make it better.

A thoughtful piece from Associations Now looks at the people side of AI and why leaders can’t afford to treat it like a plug-and-play solution. The article emphasizes that AI is only as strong as the data behind it, and that bias can show up in the data, the algorithms, or even the way information is cleaned before a model is used. It also warns that privacy, security, and timeliness need to stay part of the conversation.

What we liked most is the reminder that leadership still matters most when the stakes are human. Listening well, being curious about unintended consequences, and making sure teams are accountable are not “soft skills” here. They are part of what makes AI responsible in the first place.

🌟 : Oklahoma ACC (OKACC) 🌟

The best professional communities don’t just share information. They help people feel connected to something bigger than their own day to day work.

That’s what Oklahoma ACC is doing for cardiovascular professionals across the state. Their mission focuses on preventing heart disease, supporting high quality care, and upholding strong professional standards, all while creating space for education, advocacy, and collaboration.

Their upcoming 2026 Annual Scientific Session on April 11 at the OU Health Sciences Center is a great example of that in action. It brings clinicians together around current cardiovascular topics while strengthening the relationships that make a chapter community useful year round.

When you think about the best chapter communities, what makes them worth staying involved in: education, advocacy, leadership, or connection?

📸 A little throwback to a great night with ACC St. Louis at Grant’s Farm.

This was one of those events that just felt good from start to finish. Good people, a relaxed setting, and a chance for members to connect outside the usual routine.

We were thrilled to support ACC St. Louis for their Member Appreciation Event and want to give a special shoutout to Sue Wagner for working closely with Cara Stuckel Baker and the Membership Committee to help make the evening such a success.

Looking back at these photos, we’re reminded that member events do not have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes it’s simply about creating space for people to enjoy each other and feel glad they came.

What’s your favorite kind of member appreciation event: casual networking, family-friendly fun, or something more formal?
