📣 A lot of associations still treat email like the main event.

This new piece from Associations Now makes the case for something bigger: a real multichannel strategy. Email still matters, but it can’t carry everything on its own, especially when members are already juggling crowded inboxes. The article points out that fewer than half of associations use tools beyond email for renewal marketing, even though different audiences pay attention in different places.

What’s smart here is the reminder that “important” messages don’t only belong in email. Associations can stretch the value of one moment, like a fly-in or event, across video, social, text, and other channels so the message reaches more people and lasts longer.

That’s a big part of what ACC St. Louis has built. Since 1987, the chapter has grown to more than 650 members across 185+ companies, and it continues to create opportunities for in-house counsel to learn, lead, and serve. Happy 6th workiversary to Rick Dungey 🎉

Today we’re celebrating Rick and the thoughtful, mission-driven work he brings to Q&A Business Solutions.

Rick does incredible work with both the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and the National Christmas Tree Association.

As Executive Director of the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, he helps support programs that keep Christmas Spirit going all year long for kids, families, and the environment. That includes Trees for Troops, along with other efforts that have supported scholarships, teacher curriculum, recycling promotion, and relief programs.

Through the National Christmas Tree Association, Rick also helps support the real Christmas tree community and the work NCTA does to protect and advocate for the farm-grown Christmas tree industry.

It’s meaningful work, and Rick brings the experience, care, and steady leadership it takes to do it well.

📚 Community and learning don’t really live in separate boxes anymore.

A recent episode from Associations Now makes a strong case that members join and stay for two main reasons: they want to learn and they want to connect with peers. When those experiences get split apart, engagement starts to slip.

That feels especially relevant right now. Associations can’t treat education like one lane and community like another. The real value often shows up when members can learn something new and immediately talk about it, test it, and apply it with people who understand their world.

🤖 AI isn’t just a tech topic anymore. It’s quickly becoming a leadership topic.

A new episode from Associations Now looks at why AI certification is starting to matter more for association leaders. One point that really stands out: the bigger risk may not be AI replacing people, but organizations falling behind because their leaders don’t know how to use it well. The conversation also gets practical, pointing to simple starting points like meeting summaries, email drafting, and research, backed by clear policies and disclosures.

That’s a helpful reminder for associations. AI fluency doesn’t have to mean becoming a technical expert overnight. 🌟 : Kansas ACC 🌟

Strong chapter communities don’t happen by accident. They’re built when people feel like there’s a place for them to learn, contribute, and grow at every stage of their career.

That’s one of the things Kansas ACC seems to be doing really well. In addition to education and advocacy, they’ve been creating more intentional ways for members to connect through Women in Cardiology, Fellows-in-Training, and Early Career sections. It’s a smart reminder that supporting heart health also means supporting the people doing the work.
