Once again this year, Century participated in KidSmart’s “Push for Pencils, Push for Change” school supply drive, helping provide much-needed classroom supplies for children throughout the St. Louis area.

Throughout August, we collected school supplies at both Century branches, and yesterday morning, we delivered everything to KidSmart — along with a $193.06 check.

That monetary donation came from our members and employees, who dropped cash into collection jars at our teller windows, with the credit union matching their donations dollar for dollar.

To put the $193.06 donation into perspective, KidSmart can use that amount to provide 58 children with 772 notebooks or 385 children with 385 boxes of crayons.

The large number of school items we collected included coloring supplies (crayons, markers and colored pencils), writing supplies (pencils, pens and highlighters), folders, notebooks, paper, composition books, binders, backpacks, glue sticks, scissors, and erasers.

Thank you to everyone who contributed supplies or money to this year’s drive. Your generosity will help put essential school supplies into the hands of local children who need them. ❤️

Another impressive achievement for our president & CEO! 👏

We’re incredibly proud to have someone leading Century who never stops learning, growing and looking for ways to make our credit union even stronger.

Please join us in congratulating Josh Wallace on becoming a Certified Credit Union Investments Professional (CCUIP) last week after completing a program offered by America’s Credit Unions.

So, what does all that investment training mean for Century? Simply put, Josh learned even more about how to make our money work harder.

Ideally, we put members’ deposits to work by lending those funds to other members for cars, homes and other needs. But when we have more deposits than we can put into loans, we don’t want that money just sitting around. We safely invest those funds so they can continue earning income for Century — and ultimately benefit our members.

Josh also holds certifications as a Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist and a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor, reflecting his commitment to continually expanding his knowledge and putting it to work for Century and the people we serve.

Another A-List honor! 🏆 Century has now been a finalist for Best Credit Union in St. Louis three years running.

From the initial nomination round to the final public vote, St. Louis Magazine’s A-List gives people throughout the region a voice in choosing their local favorites across more than 200 categories, with the top vote-getters earning a place among the year’s honorees. More than 430,000 votes were cast this year.

⚾ Leah Vickery an 18-year-old Century member, was one of the lucky winners in our summer Visa® credit card promotion, scoring two tickets to see the Savannah Bananas at Busch Stadium last Friday! 🎉

When a last-minute work conflict kept Leah from attending, she passed the fun along to her mom, Kelly, and grandma, Ginger, who got to enjoy the one-of-a-kind Bananas experience instead.

Leah reported back that they had “a lot of fun” and “really enjoyed it.” 🍌

We’re glad Leah’s grand-prize win still resulted in a memorable night for her family. Congratulations again, Leah — we love having you and your mom as part of the Century family!

🎒📚 Back to school with Penny & friends! 🦔🚌

We’re celebrating the start of another school year by displaying some very special artwork in our branches!

These colorful creations from our Dollar Den Kids Savings Club members were submitted during last year’s calendar coloring contest and feature our August back-to-school scene with Penny the Hedgehog and her friends.

Stop by either of our branches to pick up a coloring sheet and have your child's artwork added to our displays!

We hope all our kids savings club members heading back to the classroom have fun, learn lots of new things, and do their very best in school. 🌟

And remember — good grades can pay! 💵 Club members can earn rewards for the “A’s” (or equivalent grades) on their report cards — up to $5 each quarter! At the end of each quarter, simply bring your child and their report card into one of our branches so we can celebrate their hard work with them! 🎉

Century Credit Union held a two-month-long summer promotion, where any member who applied for and received a new credit card would receive a pair of complimentary St. Louis Cardinals tickets and be entered for a chance to win one of two unforgettable Busch Stadium experiences!

⚾ David K. won a pair of all-inclusive St. Louis Cardinals tickets from us to a game of his choice, and selected the September 14 matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants. He and a guest will enjoy complimentary food and beverages in the Budweiser 703 Club in left field while cheering on the hometown team!

🍌 Leah V. won two tickets to see the Savannah Bananas take over Busch Stadium on Friday, August 21, when they face the Loco Beach Coconuts. It’s sure to be an unforgettable night of baseball and entertainment!

📣Big News: We've expanded our field of membership

Our service area now includes St. Charles County, Missouri!

If you live or work in this county, you’re now eligible to become a Century Credit Union member and take advantage of the financial products, competitive rates and personal service we’ve been providing to local communities since 1954.

This expansion was first approved by current members attending our annual meeting, followed by final approval from the Missouri Division of Credit Unions.

St. Charles County is a natural extension of our service area, which also includes St. Louis County, St. Louis City, Jefferson County and Franklin County. By welcoming St. Charles County, we can bring the value of Century membership to even more people while continuing our commitment to the communities we serve.

We're excited to be part of YP STL, a new initiative bringing together young professionals from credit unions across the St. Louis area to connect, share ideas, and grow.

The first event was a fantastic kickoff — a social outing for those ages 18-40 to network, have meaningful conversations, and build relationships. Employees with varying years of experience and positions at six credit unions attended.

We can't wait to see what's ahead in the development of these and other future credit union leaders who join this local effort!
