The key to a safe and healthy summer is to stay hydrated!

The human body is made up mostly of water. Even when you're not active, your body can lose 2.5 quarts of water every day through urine, perspiration, breath, and sweat.

With a little bit of preparation before your outdoor activities in the hot summer sun, you can easily replace any water lost and avoid heat-related illnesses.

Here are some things you can do to beat the heat and give your body what it needs:

- Drink before you're thirsty
- Take frequent water breaks
- Consider an electrolyte drink
- Eat water-rich fruits and veggies
- Avoid sugary drinks, alcohol, and caffine
- Regulate your body temperature by finding some shade
- Drink coconut water

There are several ways we can better support men facing mental health challenges. Reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness is essential so that men feel more comfortable seeking help when they need it. Another major barrier is lack of awareness — many men may not recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions or know where to turn for help. This can be especially true for men in marginalized communities, including men of color, LGBTQ+ men, and those living in rural areas. Increasing education and awareness, along with ensuring access to affordable, high-quality mental health care and support services, can make a meaningful difference.

If you are struggling, remember that you do not have to face it alone. There are people who care about your well-being and want to support you. Reaching out to a trusted friend, family member, therapist, or mental health professional can be an important first step toward getting help.
