What happens after exoneration?

Being declared innocent is only the beginning. Many exonerees face challenges finding housing, employment, financial stability, and rebuilding their lives after years lost to wrongful incarceration.

Join Justine PETERSEN and Exonerated Nation’s founder and Executive Director, Obie Anthony on Friday, July 17, 2026, for a powerful discussion featuring community leaders, advocates, and individuals with lived experience as we explore how we can create pathways to opportunity, restoration, and lasting success.

Big congratulations to Jenny Raith on the launch of The Cozy Collective!

With support from a $75,000 microloan through Justine PETERSEN and assistance from the Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI), Jenny is turning her vision into reality by creating an online community dedicated to homemaking, creativity, and personal growth.

Drawing on more than 28 years of homemaking experience and the perspective of an empty nester, Jenny aims to help women create homes that reflect their values, priorities, and personal style.

At Justine PETERSEN, we believe that access to capital can help transform great ideas into thriving businesses and meaningful community resources. We are proud to be part of Jenny's journey and look forward to seeing The Cozy Collective grow.

Honoring Freedom, Building Opportunity: Why Juneteenth Matters at Justine PETERSEN

Juneteenth is more than a date on the calendar. It is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the continued pursuit of opportunity for all.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not just about removing barriers. It is about creating access to opportunity, stability, and the ability to build a brighter future.

At Justine PETERSEN, that belief is at the heart of everything we do. We know that financial empowerment, homeownership, entrepreneurship, and access to capital can transform lives and strengthen communities. Every day, we work alongside individuals and families to help them build credit, purchase homes, grow businesses, and create lasting wealth that can be passed on to future generations.

Juneteenth also reminds us that progress requires action. While we celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black Americans, we also recognize the work that remains in ensuring equitable access to financial resources, economic mobility, and community investment.

Throughout our history, we have been proud to support entrepreneurs pursuing their dreams, families working toward homeownership, and individuals rebuilding their financial futures. These successes are not just personal victories. They are investments in stronger neighborhoods, thriving businesses, and a more inclusive economy.

As we commemorate Juneteenth, we invite our community to reflect on the meaning of freedom and how we can continue creating pathways to opportunity for everyone. Together, we can honor the past while building a future where prosperity is within reach for all.

Happy Juneteenth from all of us at Justine PETERSEN.

Client Spotlight!

With guidance from an SBA mentor, a connection made at a SCORE Conference, and support from Justine PETERSEN, Roland Cousins turned a passion for home improvement into a thriving business that helps homeowners, creates jobs, and provides a more sustainable approach to remodeling.
ership.

After leaving the Army, Roland of Get A Grip wasn't looking to start a business; he was looking for a way to provide for his family. What began with passing out cleaning flyers in his neighborhood grew into a successful commercial cleaning company and eventually led him to franchise ownership.

Rolands story is a powerful reminder that success often starts with one conversation, one opportunity, and the determination to keep moving forward.
